the Concacaf Champions League and reach the championship game for the second time in the club's existence.
The current MLS champions LAFC lost 2-1 to Tigres of Liga MX in the Concachampions final in Orlando in 2020.
As the Union failed to defeat LAFC, Philadelphia's hopes of winning the Concachampions,
Cup were dashed in the semifinals for the second time in three years (Club América eliminated the Union 4-0 in 2021).
Philly is currently 0-4-2 all-time versus their fellow expansion club after losing the MLS finals to LAFC in a penalty shootout in November.
