Kevin Costner Starts Western Sequel That Delays Yellowstone Season 5
BTS photos show Kevin Costner working on Horizon's second installment, which delayed Yellowstone season 5.
Kevin Costner begins filming Horizon's second half, which reportedly delayed Yellowstone season 5. Taylor Sheridan's neo-Western TV series Yellowstone launched Paramount+'s world, including Harrison Ford's prequel 1923.
However, star Costner's commitment to directing his four-movie Western epic Horizon may delay the second half of season 5's summer 2023 premiere.
BTS photographs show the second portion of Yellowstone is being shot in Utah, so it's unclear how Costner's emphasis on Horizon will affect the release date.
The photographs, shared by Shelley Evans Palmer, show covered wagons arranged for a scene in Costner's post-Civil War film about the American West.
Deadline reports that Horizon's second season has begun starring Glynn Turman, Kathleen Quinlan, and Giovanni Ribisi.
Horizon was announced in early 2022 and began production later that year with the goal of shooting all four movies back-to-back.
The first of the four films finished in late 2022, and the second was scheduled to start in spring 2023, causing the scheduling problem that has left the back half of Yellowstone season 5 in limbo.
