For players who have finished The Champions’ Ballad DLC for The Breath of the Wild, Nintendo has added a heartfelt reference in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
The Champions’ Ballad DLC delves into the backstories of the champions chosen to pilot the holy creatures before they perished in the battle against Calamity Ganon. At the end of the story, Link and Zelda stand for a portrait with the champions, which is eventually put in Link’s house in Hatano village.
According to VG247, gamers that finished the DLC will find an identical image decorating the wall of the same mansion in Tears of the Kingdom, which is now owned by Zelda. Unfortunately, everyone who does not complete the DLC will be met with a blank wall and remorse.
