For players who have finished The Champions’ Ballad DLC for The Breath of the Wild, Nintendo has added a heartfelt reference in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
The Champions’ Ballad DLC delves into the backstories of the champions chosen to pilot the holy creatures before they perished in the battle against Calamity Ganon. At the end of the story, Link and Zelda stand for a portrait with the champions, which is eventually put in Link’s house in Hatano village.
According to VG247, gamers that finished the DLC will find an identical image decorating the wall of the same mansion in Tears of the Kingdom, which is now owned by Zelda. Unfortunately, everyone who does not complete the DLC will be met with a blank wall and remorse.

Players who want to carry over their Breath of the Wild experience can also transfer any horses they tamed in the original game to Tears of the Kingdom. All you have to do is download your Breath of the Wild save data to your Switch and then visit an in-game stable to import your steed.
We characterized Tears of the Kingdom as a “unfathomable follow-up” that extended a world “that already felt full beyond expectation” while “raising the bar ever higher into the clouds” in our 10/10 rating.
